Tech&MindSet Lab (“we”, “us”, “our”) takes your privacy seriously. We are an independent publication — no VC money, no ad networks, no data brokers. This page tells you exactly what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
1. What We Collect
- Email address — only when you voluntarily subscribe to our newsletter. Never required to read content.
- Anonymous usage data — pages visited, reading time, referral source. Aggregated, not tied to identity.
- Browser & device signals — browser type, viewport size, OS. Used only for display optimisation.
- Theme preference — stored in your browser’s
localStorage, never sent to our servers.
2. How We Use It
- To send the weekly newsletter — if and only if you signed up for it.
- To understand which topics resonate (so we write more of the right things).
- To respond to direct messages or feedback you send us.
- We never sell, rent, or broker your data. Full stop.
3. Newsletter & Email
Subscribing means you consent to receive our weekly digest. Every issue includes a one-click unsubscribe — no dark patterns, no re-opt-in traps. We currently use an email service provider (Mailchimp / ConvertKit) that stores your email on their infrastructure, subject to their own policies. You can unsubscribe at any time, after which we retain no personal data about you.
4. Third-Party Services
The services below touch your data in limited, documented ways:
- Google Analytics / Plausible — anonymised traffic measurement. IP addresses are not stored in identifiable form.
- Google Fonts — font delivery. Your IP may be logged briefly by Google’s CDN. We are evaluating self-hosted alternatives.
- Cloudinary CDN — image delivery. Standard server logs apply.
- WordPress / Hostinger — hosting infrastructure. Subject to their respective security and privacy frameworks.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
We use the minimum possible:
- theme key in
localStorage— your light/dark preference. Stays in your browser, never transmitted. - WordPress session cookies — only set if you log in. Not applicable to regular readers.
- Analytics cookies (optional) — anonymous session data. Blocked by standard browser privacy settings or ad-blockers — we respect that choice.
6. Data Retention
Newsletter subscriber records are held until you unsubscribe, after which they are deleted within 30 days. Aggregated analytics data is retained for up to 26 months, then purged or further anonymised. No personally identifiable information is kept beyond what is operationally necessary.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you are, you may have rights under GDPR, CCPA, or similar frameworks — including the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email us and we will respond within 30 days:
8. Security
We use HTTPS across all pages, server-side firewalls, and limit data collection to reduce attack surface. That said, no internet transmission is unconditionally secure. If you discover a vulnerability, please disclose it responsibly via email.
9. Changes to This Policy
We will update this page when practices change. Subscribers will be notified of material changes via newsletter. The “Last updated” date above is the authoritative revision marker.
10. Contact
